Congressional Women's Softball 2014
June 18, 2014. The game was won by the Congressional Members team over the Press Team by a score of 10-5.
Gabby Giffords threw out the first pitch. Kirsten Gillibrand was winning pitcher and MVP.
There were appearances by Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor, John Boehner, Nancy Pelosi, Kevin McCarthey and Steny Hoyer. Team Co-Captain Debbie Wasserman Schultz sustained a leg injury but was on hand for the trophy ceremony. The game raised $150,000 to combat breast cancer.
