Garrison Keillor recites poetry at the 11th Annual National Book Festival on the National Mall on September 25. An estimated 200,000 book-lovers gathered for the two-day Library of Congress sponsored event. "A Prairie Home Companion" became a live radio broadcast on Minnesota Public Radio in 1974. Keillor also hosts the daily radio show "The Writer's Almanac," during which he reads poems and recounts the day in history.
