Adas Israel Synagogue; Capital Jewish Museum
The oldest synagogue in Washington, D.C. is physically moved down 3rd Street NW in Washington D.C. on January 9, 2019 as the first major step in building the new Capital Jewish Museum set to be completed in 2021. The third Women's March returned to Washington D.C. as thousands of activists gathered on Freedom Plaza on Pennsylvania Ave. and marched past the Trump International Hotel on Saturday January 19, 2019, demanding respect for women and protesting against President Donald Trump and his policies - one of several such protests around the country marking the 2nd anniversary of President Trump's inauguration. Two year old Stormi Rae Ricks’ father, police officer Kirt Ricks was one of 158 officers either killed or who died in the line of duty in 2018. Asking "Where are the Children?", activists placed over a thousand pairs of childrens' pajamas on clotheslines along the National Mall in Washington D.C. on International Children's Day, June 9, 2019, to protest the ten thousand or more migrant children allegedly separated from their parents or families and placed in government detention camps or centers. Each pajama is a stark reminder of forcibly separated families and parents spending nights away from their children.
