Rep. John Lewis Postal Service Unveils 50th Anniversary of March on Washington Stamp. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, the U.S. Postal Service unveiled a new Forever stamp at the Newseum on Aug. 23. . In 1963, Lewis was chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee and an organizer of the march.
