Capitol Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony (2017)
The U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree was lit by the Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.), with the assistance of 11-year-old Ridley Brandmayr of Bozeman, Montana, on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 during a ceremony on the U.S. Capitol West Front Lawn in Washington D.C. This year's tree was chosen from the Kootenai National Forest located in the northwest corner of Montana. The tree will be lit at nightfall until 11 p.m. every night through January 1, 2018.
