Daniel Sheehy is director of the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage. Sheehy joined the Smithsonian in 2000, serving as director of Smithsonian Folkways Recordings, curator of the Folkways Collection and director of Smithsonian Global Sound, an educational Web site offering information, video mini-documentaries and downloads of traditional music from around the world.
