National Memorial Day Parade
Zoe Lawler (left), and Emy Lawler of the Cole Valley Chargers Christian Band, Boise, Idaho, get ready to march. The National Memorial Day Parade along Constitution Avenue in Washington D.C. included marching bands and veterans units from all 50 states and every branch of service. Memorial Day is a solemn day of remembrance for those who have died in service to our country as veterans and active military alike gather at our prominent national monuments to lay commemorative wreaths and play taps for the fallen. The Memorial Day weekend also marks the unofficial beginning of the summer season. Washington, D.C. on Monday, May 30, 2016. (Photo by Jeff Malet)
