Sidney Blumenthal has been an aide to President Bill Clinton and was an adviser to Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. He has also been on the staff of the Clinton Foundation. He has worked for The New Yorker, The Washington Post and The New Republic, and he was Washington bureau chief for Salon magazine. Blumenthal has just published "Wrestling With His Angel: The Political Life of Abraham Lincoln, Vol. II, 1849-1856", in which he shows how Lincoln led the way for a new Republican Party and how he became its first president.
