Elizabeth Moss, Margaret Atwood, The Handmaid's Tale preview
Elisabeth Moss (left), star of Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale, appears on the red carpet with author Margaret Atwood at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. Moss' character, Offred, is one of a class of women known as "handmaids," who are forced into servitude by the ruling class for reproductive purposes.
Smithsonian Associates presented an exclusive series preview and panel discussion of Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History. The series is based on Margaret Atwood's novel, The Handmaid's Tale, a chilling story of life in the totalitarian dystopia of Gilead, that has captured the imaginations of readers around the world since its publication in 1985.
