First Responders to the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 joined Congressional Democrats for a news conference urging the Senate to pass a bill that would pay for their medical needs. Congressional members participating were Senators Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) as well as House Representatives Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) and Jerrold Nadler (D-NY). December 21, 2010 in Washington DC. Rizzo, a retired corrections officer who attributes his respiratory problems to his work on the debris pile, said passage of the bill will ensure he can continue to see doctors at the 9/11 monitoring program at The Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan.
