Det. Glen Klein (NYPD retired) was a rescue worker at Ground Zero in the aftermath of 9/11. First Responders to the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 joined Congressional Democrats for a news conference urging the Senate to pass a bill that would pay for their medical needs. Congressional members participating were Senators Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) as well as House Representatives Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) and Jerrold Nadler (D-NY). December 21, 2010 in Washington DC. In the final vote of the 111th Congress the next day, House lawmakers overwhelmingly passed the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act.
