Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick brought his anti-dogfighting message to Congress in Washington DC on July 19, 2011, backing legislation that would penalize those who knowingly attend animal fights and allow minors to attend. Vick was inspired in part by his own conviction in 2007 for running a kennel of fighting dogs. Vick appeared at a press conference with Rep. Betty Sutton (D-OH) and Rep. Jim Moran (D-VA) (both seated in photo), co-chairman of the Congressional Animal Protection Caucus, among its co-sponsors. Vick spoke alongside Wayne Pacelle, president and chief executive officer of the Humane Society of the United States. (Photo by Jeff Malet)
