Niger Innis and Herman Cain were two of more than a dozen African American conservatives gathered in Washington DC on August 4, 2010 to help the Tea Party Express fight back against accusations of racism. Niger Innis is the National Spokesman Congress of Racial Equality and Co-Chairman Affordable Power Alliance. Niger's father Roy Innis has been National Director of CORE since 1968. Selena Owens joined more than a dozen African American conservatives gathered in Washington DC on August 4, 2010 to help the Tea Party Express fight back against accusations of racism. Selena and husband William Owens are Christian political activists, authors and speakers. The Owens’ joined the Tea Party Express from the first tour from Sacramento to Washington, DC, ending on the 9/12 March on DC, touring with the Express by car. They have since joined the Tea Party Express family by bus for each tour thereafter. and are committed to the Tea Party movement because of its stance regarding the citizen’s concerns of limited government, fiscal responsibility, and transparency in government, and free markets.
