Sledding at the US Capitol
After the first blizzard of December 2009, residents headed to the West Lawn of the Capitol, a super sledding area. The area had been resticted for such activities since 9/11. It lasted for one day before the rules kicked back in and the sledders were frozen out. Senator Dodd, who was kicked off recently when he tried to sled there with his two daughters, persuaded the sergeant-at-arms to lift the ban for the President's Day holiday weekend and the kids in the neighborhood took full advantage.
