Jay Winik
Best-selling author Jay Winik is a senior scholar of history and public policy at the University of Maryland who is best known for his book “April 1864: The Month That Saved America.” He is a regular contributor to The Wall Street Journal and his work is often published in The New York Times and The Washington Post. He also appears frequently on the History Channel. During his government career in foreign policy, Winik traveled around the world and helped create the United Nations plan to end Cambodia’s civil war. His books include “The Great Upheaval: America and the Birth of the Modern World, 1788-1800” and his latest work, “1944: FDR and the Year That Changed History” (Simon & Schuster).
