Robin Givhan is a fashion writer and editor at The Washington Post with a reputation for being blunt. Her fashion beat at The Post includes covering first lady Michelle Obama. In 2006 she won the Pulitzer Prize in criticism for her essays, which meld fashion criticism with cultural criticism. She has held positions at the San Francisco Chronicle and Vogue and appeared on The Colbert Report in 2006. Recently she published “The Battle of Versailles: The Night American Fashion Stumbled into the Spotlight and Made History” (Flatiron), a book about the landmark fashion show of 1973 with American and French designers at the Palace of Versailles.
